Can I transfer my hosting account to Cherry-Web-Hosting.com.au without downtime?

Yes, but only if you do the transition as described here.

1. Order your hosting package with Cherry Web Hosting prior to your cancelling with your current host.
2. Login to your webspace using our IP address with the settings provided in our setup email.
3. Upload and test your files using our IP address.
4. Set the DNS settings on your registrar to point to our servers.
5. Wait the propagation time (24-72 hours). Gradually the entire Internet will recognise us as your hosting service.
6. Continue to use your webspace as normal with the domain name rather than the IP address.
7. Send an email to your former host letting them know that you have switched provider.

Most of these steps are required to switch hosting provider anyway. It is just the order of these steps that makes the difference between no downtime, or having a little downtime.
