Why do I get the warning that 'some items are insecure' on my secure page?
When publishing HTML pages on secure servers, naturally warning messages can turn off users just before they enter their orders or information. The reason for this is not the server itself, but in some of the images or other files embedded in the page.
For example:
- A HTML page is placed on the secure server
- The HTML page has images that are linked to your normal (insecure) hosting space
- The browser your client is using receives a warning message informing them that parts of the page are insecure
- The client gets worried that the credit card part of the page is insecure and leaves before ordering
To fix this situation the image files must be placed on the secure server as well. This way all of the page is delivered securely, and no warnings appear leaving the client as confident as they should be about security.
